The Lagoonology Team

John Buck  Game Developer & Managing Partner

Lagoonology was inspired by John’s MA thesis at the Ohio State University entitled “Learner Interaction with Visual Curricular Material: A Model of Application of Design for Enabling Wetland Awareness in Environmental Education”.

The centerpiece of the thesis was a working model of a classroom sized board game centered on the Big Darby Creek and wetlands in Ohio in which participants won or lost given assets with each roll of the dice.  Twenty years later, John applied this concept to a game concerning the forces impacting the Indian River Lagoon.

John acquired a BS & MA in Visual Communication and Graphic Design.  His creative career includes experience in art studios, ad agencies, international printing and finally as a contract photographer for Eastman Kodak. He currently offers group and individual digital photography lessons and is exhibited locally as a painter and digital designer.

Since retiring to Florida, he has become an advocate for sustaining the health of the Indian River Lagoon.
